This tool creates a distribution list of words found within specific XML elements or attributes.

Walkthrough

Example: fetch XML from http://www.xml.com/1999/03/ie5/first-x.xml; create distribution graph for <para> tags containing the word `Microsoft'.
  1. Source text
    1. Enter `http://www.xml.com/1999/03/ie5/first-x.xml' in the URL field.
  2. Subtext limited to
    1. Select the Distribute over Element option and enter `para in the adjacent text field.
  3. What to find
    1. Enter `Microsoft' in the Word/Pattern to find field.

Defines which elements or attributes will be used to create the distribution graph.

Fields

Distribute over Element
Defines which element will be used to create the distribution graph

Distribute over Attribute
Defines which attribute will be used to create the distribution graph.

Distribute over n% block of text
Defines the relative granularity of the distribution graph, i.e., when n=1 the tool will distribute over chunks of text equal to 1% of the total document size.

Distribute over chunks
Defines the number of words per chunk used by the tool.

Word/Pattern to find
Enter a word or phrase to be searched for within the text. To search for more than one word, please separate with a comma. Quotations are not needed in searching for phrases.
